About Us

A vibrant dessert table decorated for a celebration. — Elks Lodge
A vibrant dessert table decorated for a celebration.

On School Street in Hamden, Lodge 2224 has been the kind of place where a Great Gatsby birthday bash and a Tuesday karaoke night feel equally at home. The ballroom is genuinely spacious, roomy enough for a full themed production with décor, a dance floor, and a crowd that actually has room to move. Event planners who have worked here consistently point to the sheer square footage as one of the biggest selling points in the area.

The bar staff sets the tone. Guests who come in solo for karaoke night routinely end up in conversations they didn't expect, nursing a few drinks while the music plays and strangers become regulars. That's the rhythm of Lodge 2224, a place that earns a 4.3-star rating not through polish alone but through the kind of warmth that keeps people coming back.

The Lodge holds BPOE membership at its core, with a century-old fraternal mission supporting veterans, youth programs, and community service throughout the Hamden, CT area. But the doors open wide for the public, making it one of the more accessible event venues in the region.

What We Offer

The main event hall accommodates large-scale celebrations with room to spare. Themed parties, milestone birthdays, wedding receptions, retirement dinners, and fundraising galas have all found a home here. The space can be configured to suit your vision, and the in-house bar keeps the evening moving.

Karaoke nights draw a regular crowd that ranges from first-timers to seasoned performers. It's an open, easy atmosphere where the bartenders know how to keep the energy up and the drinks flowing without rushing anyone out the door.

Beyond private events, the Lodge hosts community gatherings, fraternal meetings, and charitable functions tied to the Elks' national mission. If you're planning an event and need a venue that combines genuine size, a full bar, and a staff that actually cares how your night goes, Lodge 2224 is worth a serious look.

"V & T Event Planners loved the size of the place it was great! The party we set up was a Great Gatsby 30th Birthday Party. The Lady Bartender was kind and friendly. It needs a bit of TLC in both bathrooms and the curtains need to be replaced. Other than that Great price Awesome location😊"

"My friend had her daughter's baby shower there. It's free if your a member if not it's not too expensive. The people r very easy to work with. They let u use whatever they have. Full kitchen & bar. The only thing we didn't like was they are doing some renovations & they left the ceiling tiles in the room we used. Too many to move. They have the stair chair for elderly or handicapped which is a big plus. Good place."

Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
